Paul Parmar is a world renowned, self-made financier and business strategist, as well as founder and chairman of the private equity firm Pegasus Blue Star Fund (“Pegasus”). Through Pegasus, Mr. Parmar owns a diverse portfolio of profitable companies in the U.S. and India in a wide range of industries, including healthcare, aerospace and defense, media and entertainment, property development, strategic consulting, and consumer products.

Paul Parmar is a thought leader in the Private Equity Space. His primary focus is on transforming industries by creating new business models and optimizing the key business processes in each business by leveraging technology. Although he has successfully transformed the private jet industry, the media and entertainment, and property development industries; his passion is clearly in the healthcare industry. While still in college he earned the prestigious award, “Young Scientist of the Year Award” by designing and building the world’s first remote monitoring solution for EKG machines. The monitoring solution ensured that multiple patients could be simultaneously monitored and would receive immediate attention as soon as their heart beats strayed outside an acceptable interval range.

Since those early days Mr. Parmar has continued to devote his time and resources to continue to improve healthcare for everyone. He has invested in cancer centers where patients are treated for their health conditions with creative new treatments. Mr. Parmar is “excited that this investment is a new opportunity to bring change to the way cancer is treated.”

Most recently he has turned his sights on dramatically reducing the cost of healthcare by investing in medical practice management. Mr. Parmar’s most recent investments in healthcare are focused on optimizing the business practices, improving the financial transparency and lowering the cost of operations for hospitals and large medical practices. Mr. Parmar’s innovative use of technology to change the competitive landscape of the medical practice management industry forces his competitors to adopt the same best practices and technology, thereby reducing healthcare costs across the board.

The common thread in all of his ventures is redefining the competitive environment in the targeted industries and then optimizing the processes that deliver the newly enhanced value proposition to the customers by creating industry best practices and leveraging technology.

Outside of his investment activities, Mr. Parmar is highly philanthropic, has a passion for flying airplanes, and he is a well know animal rights advocate.  His concern about the plight of tigers around the world has led him to create a tiger refuge in Texas.  He purchased several hundred acres of prime tiger habitat dedicated to rehabilitating and housing tigers that have been abused.  Mr. Parmar modestly stated:  “There was a tremendous need to provide a refuge for tigers that people had as pets in their houses, and then did not have means or space to care for them; so I created the refuge.”
