Professor Allan Hill has been at Harvard as the Andelot Professor of Demography since 1991. His undergraduate degree was completed at University College, Durham UK, PhD at Durham University, Durham UK, he completed a Diploma in Demography at Princeton in 1975 and received a MA Honoris Causa from Harvard University in 1991. The focus of Hill’s research work has been on understanding the health, mortality and fertility health transitions in the Arab World and West Africa.
