Currently the Professor of Population Geography at University of Waikato (NZ) and a member of the National Institute of Demographic and Economic Analysis, Professor Bedford obtained his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Auckland. He completed his PhD in 1971 at the Research School of Pacific Studies at the Australian National University.
